 Once the storm has passed, carefully assess your home or business for damage. Stay alert for downed power lines—strong winds can pull them from structures, creating a serious hazard. Avoid stepping onto a wet roof, as moisture and loose shingles can make it extremely dangerous. 

• Severe Damage: Contact your insurance company immediately. If temporary housing is needed, reach out to understand your available options.
• Moderate to Heavy Damage: Call a reputable roofing and exteriors company as soon as possible. If you’re not handling temporary repairs yourself, scheduling professional assistance quickly can help prevent further issues. Be cautious of contractors who show up uninvited—they may be dishonest “storm chasers” looking to take advantage of the situation.
• Minor Damage: Arrange an inspection with a trusted roofing company. In some cases, repairs may cost less than your deductible. A licensed professional can evaluate whether your damage qualifies for a full roof replacement and provide useful insights for dealing with your insurance adjuster.

Take photos of all damage, including your home, property, and vehicles.
